National Natural Monument Dobšinská ľadová jaskyňa is ranged between the UNESCO Monuments and is the lowest situated Ice cave at the same time with the highest volume of Ice (110 000 cubic meters) in the world. Already in the year 1871 the Ice cave was accessible and the electric lights were installed soon after that in the year 1887 and it became the first electrically lit cave in Europe. Today, there is 475 m accessible for public. There are 500 stairs to walk. The visit takes 30 min. There is a one kilometre long nature trail with an elevation of 130 metres that leads to the cave from the Tourist information centre. You can visit the Ice cave yearly from 15th of May until the 30th of September, except mondays.
